About the role:
The Assembly Engineering Senior Manager will play a critical role in defining and implementing assembly processes with our Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) partners. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in advanced semiconductor assembly, who can effectively collaborate with the Silicon Engineering team to drive design for manufacturability, yield improvements, quality, and cost optimization both in assembly and substrate production. The manager will oversee a small team based in Taiwan and will be instrumental in Ampere ‘s next chapter of growth.
What you’ll achieve:
- Process Development: Define and implement robust assembly processes in collaboration with OSAT partners, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and company standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Silicon Engineering team to integrate assembly processes seamlessly into the overall product development lifecycle.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of two engineers in Taiwan, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Yield Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve assembly yields with OSAT partners and substrate yields with suppliers, utilizing data-driven approaches to identify and address root causes of yield loss.
- Supplier Engagement: Work closely with substrate suppliers to enhance material quality and reliability, establishing strong partnerships that support mutual growth and success.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure high standards of product quality and reliability throughout the assembly process.
- Performance Monitoring: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of assembly processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in assembly technology, applying this knowledge to enhance processes and drive innovation.
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in semiconductor assembly engineering, with a proven track record of driving process improvements and yield enhancements.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work with OSAT and substrate partners to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in semiconductor assembly and substrate manufacturing.
What we’ll offer:
At Ampere we believe in taking care of our employees and providing a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, bonus (i.e., variable pay tied to internal company goals), long-term incentive, and comprehensive benefits. The full base pay range for this role is between $146,000 and $244,000, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $159,500 and $265,500.
