About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Voltage Regulator (VR) design lead to join our growing Processor Design group, advancing the art of high performance System-On-Chip (SOC) design.

In this role as an experienced VR design engineer, you will be leading the overall architecture, design and implementation of various DC-DC buck/boost converters. This would involve collaborating with various other teams including power management, system architecture, platform, packaging and die teams. This is a highly visible role with overall project level responsibility from specifications and implementation through productization and customer interactions. 

What you’ll achieve:

  • Work with various design teams to develop VR specifications and drive overall power-management strategy 
  • Assess various DC-DC converter configurations to develop the best-suited, application-specific design
  • Lead a team to design, develop and implement the VR designs
  • Work with layout designers to ensure layout meets design specification and follows best known layout practices
  • Generate and deliver all design collaterals for integration 
  • Develop post-silicon validation plans to ensure silicon meets specifications
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to other engineers

About you:

  • In-depth experience working on buck/boost DC-DC converters and Linear Drop-Out (LDO) regulators 
  • Extensive expertise in Analog and Mixed-Signal circuit design with in-depth understanding of key concepts like noise, mismatch etc.
  • Familiarity with designing in latest FinFet technology nodes is a plus
  • Experience with Cadence design suite for schematic entry, layout and Spice simulations
  • Electrical or Computer Engineering - Bachelor's degree & 8 years of related experience; or Master's degree & 6 years; or PhD & 3 years

The full base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $225,600, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $146,300 and $243,800.
