About the role:
As a Principal PCIe Verification Engineer you will be a key member of the design verification team at Ampere to deliver high quality next generation cloud-native server class SoCs. In this role, you will be responsible for the verification of PCIe-based designs and subsystems for high-performance data center server boards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet rigorous functional and performance standards.
What you’ll achieve:
- Develop system-level, chip-level, and unit-level test plans for functional and performance verification of PCIe designs.
- Develop test benches from scratch using SystemVerilog and UVM, develop directed/random testcases, code coverage.
- Run RTL simulations, debug simulation failures, and measure verification coverage.
- Define block-level and full-chip level test environments for PCIe-based SoCs.
- Collaborate with design, architecture, and software teams to optimize verification strategies.
- Automate testing processes using scripts in Perl or Python.
- Work with post-silicon validation team and help debug silicon issues to accelerate product delivery.
About you:
- 6+ years of experience in verification and design engineering.
- At least 5 years focused experience on PCIe verification.
- Prefer multiple years of in-depth PCIe endpoint verification experience with Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV).
- Well versed with System level applications/use cases of PCIe Endpoint and expertise in performance and latency analysis.
- In depth understanding CHI and AXI protocols.
- Proficiency in System Verilog, C, Perl, and Python.
- Highly skilled with UVM methodology for verification environments.
- Experience with design and simulation tools including waveform debuggers, RTL simulators and HDL languages.
- Verification experience with Inter-chiplet interconnect like UCIe is a plus.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and lead verification efforts.
- Good knowledge of high-performance microprocessor architecture and complex SoCs.
Education:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science & 8 years of related experience; MS degree & 6 years

The full base pay range for this role is between $146,300 and $243,800.
